Diving

For you, the new dive student, this means a higher quality course, more personalized training, and more of what you came for - the advice, guidance and support of a diving professional while you comfortably, securely enjoy learning to dive.

Our classes are very flexible and can be scheduled at your convenience. All PADI programs are performance based. The course length is approximately 30 hours total. This involves viewing the Open Water CD-ROM interactive computer learning program (in the comfort of your own home or work environment), answering the Knowledge reviews at the end of each module, attending two classroom sessions to review materials and participating in two instructional sessions in the Castle Rock Recreation Center heated pool. During these dives you will learn the skills needed to dive with competence and confidence. At the end of this part of the program you will have earned your certification as a confined water diver.

Your next step is 4 open water dives. We can discuss various options with you that include joining us on our many trips to Mexico, Hawaii and the Pacific. We also have local trips that allow you to become certified both in Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. A third option is our referral program where we provide you with your confined water certification credentials and you can complete your open water dives while on your next vacation.

The price for the confined water program is $300.00 each + tax. This price includes all rental equipment rental, materials and forms.

The instruction for the 4 open water dives is $300.00 plus trip & equipment expenses.

If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 12 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.

Note that PADI dive classes conducted by Planet Scuba are eligible for Collage credits and sanctioned by the ACE.

For your personal comfort, we recommended students have their own mask, snorkel, fins, and booties. If you do not have these items already they can be supplied to you - but you are encouraged to purchase these items. Students (currently enrolled in class) will receive a discount on all purchases.
